🏫SCHOOL INDUCTION PROGRAMME 🏫
Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College, Kottarakara, organized a five-day School Induction Program as part of the B.Ed. curriculum. The programme was conducted from October 24 to October 30, 2024, with the objective of providing first-year B.Ed. students with practical exposure to the school environment. A total of 110 students were placed in 20 different schools, and each trainee was given the opportunity to select a school according to personal preference.
I chose St. Goretti Higher Secondary School, Punalur, as my induction school. The programme enabled us to understand the psychological and practical aspects of school functioning. It also helped us gain insights into classroom management, student interaction, and the organizational structure of the school system.
On the first day, our group of 13 members reached the school at 9:30 a.m. We were warmly welcomed by the Headmistress, who introduced us to the institution and explained our duties and responsibilities during the induction period.
Throughout the programme, we actively participated in classroom observation, handling substitution periods, and teaching lessons independently. These experiences helped us understand classroom dynamics, improve our teaching strategies, and develop essential professional skills required for our future role as educators.
