On Wednesday, 4th September 2024, students from Baselios Marthoma Mathews II College of Teacher Education Kottarakara visited the Veluthambi Dalawa Memorial Museum in Mannady as part of the practical work for EDU 101.3. The visit, which took place from 10 AM to 2 PM, was aimed at exploring a local monument of cultural significance and preparing a report on its artistic and cultural relevance.
We were divided as per our optional subjects and each department were allocated a particular time. We Physical science team reached the museum at 1:00 PM. At the museum we were guided by Riju Sir, our principal, Akhil sir, faculty of Malayalam and a guide
During the visit, we observed various sculptures and archaeological artifacts. Some of the key attractions included portraits of the Travancore rulers, historical artifacts, agricultural tools, and cannons. The museum also featured exhibits focusing on Veluthambi Dalawa's life, such as a pavilion with his statue, displays of old coins, and the notable Kundara Proclamation. Additionally, the museum housed an open-air theatre.
